SAT FEB 25, 2023: ACCRA CITY TOUR {B/L}

On this day, we explore the capital city of Ghana. Go on a city tour visiting the National Museum of History and Ethnography with exhibits that reflect the heritage of Ghana throughout history to the present. This Museum houses a collection of historic, Archaeology and art items. A drive through Old Accra also called Jamestown and a visit to WEB DuBois Centre. The group will visit Black Star Square, the second-largest independence square in the world, and Memorial Park.
After lunch visit the National Centre for Arts and Crafts which has a varied collection of Ghanaian hand-crafted items on sale. Here you will have the opportunity to try your bargaining skills to shop in an open-air market. Shop for family and friends back home.
Evening: Meet Tailors and dressmakers for a display of ready-made clothes to place an order for a custom-made outfit.

SUN FEB 26, 2023: ACCRA – CHURCH SERVICE – INVESTMENT FORUM {B/L}

Depart to visit a local Ghanaian church to experience Sunday Worship service. Get the opportunity to interact and share with the members of the local church. After lunch rest of day is free.
Later in the day participate in an investment forum on land acquisition at Atinase village and other prospective business opportunities in Ghana.

MON FEB 27, 2023: ACCRA – ATINASE / SCHOOL VISIT - ELMINA. {B/L}

Depart Accra to Elmina in the Central Region of Ghana. Enroute stop at the Gomoa Traditional area to visit the proposed land for the establishment of Atinase Community. This land viewing will give prospective investors and buyers the opportunity to see and view the land.
Continue after lunch to visit a school as part of TEACH Missions Ghana project. Get the opportunity to donate to the school and interact with the kids.
Proceed to Elmina.

TUES FEB 28, 2023: KAKUM NATIONAL PARK / ELMINA CASTLE {B/D}

Depart to visit Kakum National Park. Go on a walk of the “Kuntan Trail” with its countless trees with medicinal properties. For the young at heart experience the “Canopy Walkway” suspended 100 feet from the forest ground for a panoramic view of the flora and fauna of the remaining vestiges of the rainforest.
Proceed to visit the Elmina Castle, the first and oldest European structure built of any substance on African soil. This was built by the Portuguese in1482 and later used as an auction market for a comprehensive guided tour. See the slave dungeons and condemn cells where slave who attempted to escape were incarcerated. View its utterly distinct architecture.
Return to hotel.

WED MAR 1, 2023: NAMING CEREMONY / CAPE COAST CASTLE. {B/D}

Depart hotel to pay a curtsey call on a local Chief to participate in a traditional Ghanaian naming ceremony. Participants will be given Ghanaian names with attributes. It would be interesting to compare your given attributes with who you are today.
After lunch visit the Cape Coast Castle which was originally started by the Swedes in 1652. It served as the headquarters and seat of the British colonial government until 1877. Go on a comprehensive tour of the Castle, the Slave Dungeons and the West African Heritage Museum.
Return into your hotel.

THUR MAR 2, 2023: [ELMINA – ASSIN MANSO – KUMASI {B/D}

Depart Elmina to the Ashanti Region, drive past by scenic villages and charming towns through the evergreen forests, banana and cocoa plantations and gin distilleries where palm wine is distilled into a gallon with an alcohol percentage of about 90%. Stop en route to visit Assin Manso, burial site of the remains of two ancestors exhumed from New York’s Wall Street & Kingston Jamaica and re-interred on the Emancipation Day 1998. A third ancestor recently interred in 2019 during the Year of Return from Barbados. Visit also the “Slave River” where the African captives were allowed to take their last bath in waters of their native land, which was the last rest stop for slaves on their “one-way” trek to the Coast for shipment into slavery.
Continue to Kumasi.

FRI MAR 3, 2023: KUMASI CITY TOUR / CRAFT VILLAGES. {B/D}

Depart after breakfast to visit a few Ashanti crafts villages including, Adanwomase well known for the traditional Kente cloth weaving. Observe weavers exhibit their skills in producing the clothes adorned some of which are a preserve for the Ashanti Kings. Ntonso - noted for its indigenous artisans whose expertise lie in Adinkra textile printing using traditional symbols that express the spiritual, moral, political and socio-cultural philosophies of the Akan people. In the Ntonso Adinkra village you will be able to try your hand at creating your own designs.
Continue go on a city tour of Kumasi visiting the Manhyia Palace Museum which provides a good insight into Ashanti culture and traditions, and the history of the Ashanti Kingdom which is over 300 years old. It provides a good glimpse into the powerful ancient Ashanti Empire and its past Kings. Drive past Kumasi Central Market, the largest open-air market in West Africa.

SAT MAR 4, 2023: KUMASI – AKOSOMBO. {B/L}

Depart after breakfast to Akosombo in the Eastern Region which lies close to the Volta Lake. Stop enroute to visit the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) founded in 1938 as the Central Cocoa Research Station of the Gold Coast Department of Agriculture. Visit the Cocoa plantation to observe at first hand the process of harvesting, drying and preparing cocoa beans for export. Go on a tour of the facility and see a model cocoa plantation and see the varied uses of cocoa— processed into wine, soap, butter etc.
After lunch proceed to Akosombo.

SUN MAR 5, 2023: BOAT CRUISE & RELAXATION. {B/D}

Join a motorized mini boat for an idyllic cruise on the Volta River to the hydro plant site, past picturesque hamlets and villages huddling on the banks of this great river which traverses all of Ghana.

Depart Akosombo back to Accra.
Stop en route at Somanya to visit Cedi Beads Factory to observe the bead-making process. Watch the centuries old process of bead making from start to finish. Learn, and discover the art of bead making.
