On this day we explore the capital city of Ghana. Visit the following places

  • A visit to WEB DuBois Centre.

Depart Accra after hotel check out to visit the Cape Coast Castle Dungeons which was originally started by the Swedes in 1652. It served as the headquarters and seat of the British colonial government until 1877. Go on a comprehensive tour of the Castle, the Slave Dungeons Lunch Continue to visit Elmina Castle Dungeons, the first and oldest European structure built of any substance on African soil. This was built by the Portuguese in1482 and later used as an auction market for a comprehensive guided tour. See the slave dungeons and condemn cells where slave who attempted to escape were incarcerated. View its utterly distinct architecture. Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

Fri Jun 12, 2026 [ADVENTURE AT KAKUM & RELAXATION]
Visit the Kakum National Park in the Central Region. Go on a walk of the “Kuntan Trail” with its countless trees with medicinal properties. For the young at heart experience the “Canopy Walkway” suspended 100 feet from the forest ground for a panoramic view of the flora and fauna of the remaining vestiges of the rainforest. Return to hotel and rest of day is free to relax by the beach. Meal:

Sat Jun 13, 2026 [ELMINA – ASSIN MANSO – KUMASI]
Check out and drive through the forest zone to Kumasi. Enroute stop at Assin Manso, visit the “Slave River” where enslaved Africans were allowed to have their “Last Bath” in preparation for auction to be sold to slave merchants before transported to the slave dungeons. Lunch Continue your drive to Kumasi where you will visit the Manhyia Palace Museum which provides a good insight into Ashanti culture and traditions, and the history of the Ashanti Kingdom which is over 300 years old Check-into hotel Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

Check out and begin your journey back to Accra. En route, stop at the Besease Shrine (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) near Ejisu. This sacred site, linked to the legendary Queen Mother Yaa Asantewaa, offers a rare glimpse into traditional Ashanti spirituality, unique architecture, and ancestral worship. Set off for Ganvie – the “Venice of West Africa”, a 300-year-old village built entirely on water. Glide through its canals in a canoe, shop at the floating market, and watch daily life unfold on the water. After lunch, continue to Cotonou for a city tour. Visit the iconic Amazon statue and learn about the legendary Agojie warriors, then admire the vibrant Benin Graffiti Wall showcasing the country’s rich culture through modern art.
