After breakfast, embark on a full-day exploration of Accra; a city where colonial history meets modern African energy. A visit to the National Museum of Ghana and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. We will experience Ghana’s rich history and the events to the independence of Ghana, a celebration to the prominent Ghanaian President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

After lunch, visit proceed to the National Centre for Arts and Crafts which has a varied collection of Ghanaian hand-crafted items on sale. Proceed to meet your drumming instructor for drumming lessons. Try your hands at drumming and learning the steps to some popular traditional dance. After that,you will have the opportunity to try your bargaining skills to shop in an open-air market.

Journey to the Coast — Where History Demands to Be Heard

After an early breakfast, depart Accra and drive west along the stunning Atlantic coastline toward Cape Coast — the historical epicenter of the transatlantic slave trade.
Arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cape Coast Castle. Originally built by the Swedes in 1653 and later controlled by the British, this imposing white fortress served as one of the largest slave-trading posts in West Africa.
Walk through the dark, suffocating dungeons where enslaved Africans were held — sometimes for months — before being forced through the infamous “Door of No Return” and onto ships bound for the Americas. This is an emotional, life-changing experience. Your guide will give you the space and context to process it fully.

Rainforest Highs & Fortress Walls

After breakfast, drive 30 minutes north to Kakum National Park, one of West Africa’s most pristine tropical rainforests.
Take on the thrilling Canopy Walkway — a series of seven suspension bridges strung 40 meters (130 feet) above the forest floor, swaying gently between the treetops. It’s an exhilarating experience and one of only a handful of
canopy walks in all of Africa. The views are extraordinary, and if you’re lucky, you’ll spot hornbills, butterflies, and
monkeys from above.
Return to the coast for lunch with views of the Atlantic ocean and beach
After lunch, tour Elmina Castle (São Jorge da Mina), the oldest European building in sub-Saharan Africa, built by the Portuguese in 1482. Like Cape Coast Castle, it was a major slave-trading fortress, and its history is both remarkable and devastating.
Depending on time; Stroll along Elmina’s bustling fishing harbor, one of the most photogenic spots in all of Ghana. Dozens of brightly painted wooden boats line the shore, fishermen mend their nets, and the air is thick with salt and energy. This is everyday Ghanaian coastal life at its most vivid.

After breakfast, bid farewell to the coast and head inland through lush green countryside, cocoa-growing regions, and small villages toward Kumasi — Ghana’s second-largest city and the proud cultural capital of the Ashanti people.
Arrive in Kumasi and proceed to lunch.
After lunch, Visit the Manhyia Palace Museum, the seat of the Ashanti king (the Asantehene). Learn about the Golden Stool, the sacred symbol of Ashanti unity, and the kingdom’s fascinating history of resistance against British colonialism

Today is a feast for the senses — a deep dive into the arts, crafts, and commercial energy that make Kumasi one of the most culturally rich cities in Africa.
Drive to the nearby village of Bonwire, the birthplace of kente cloth — Ghana’s most iconic textile. Watch master weavers at their looms, creating intricate, brilliantly colored strips of cloth using techniques passed down through generations. Learn the meaning behind different patterns and colors (each tells a story), and purchase authentic kente directly from the artisans who made it.
Stop at Ntonso, the adinkra cloth village, where artisans hand-stamp beautiful symbols onto fabric. Each adinkra symbol carries a proverb or philosophical concept — you’ll learn their meanings and can try your hand at stamping your own cloth to take home.

After lunch, Drive through Kejetia Market (Kumasi Central Market) — the largest open-air market in West Africa. Explore the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum for a deeper dive into royal Ashanti regalia, ceremonial artifacts, and court traditions
